The Challenge

This single-story commercial building in Tennessee Ridge had an aging flat roof with a heavily cracked surface and large areas of standing water. Ponding water and a cracked, weathered surface are exactly the conditions that lead to leaks and shortened roof life, and the coating along the metal edge was peeling away as well.

The Solution

Premier Roof Solutions applied a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing system directly over the existing roof. The foam is sprayed on as a liquid and expands into a continuous, seamless layer that also wraps up walls and around penetrations like roof vents, so there are no seams for water to find. Once the foam cured, a white protective topcoat was applied over it. Foam needs a topcoat to shield it from UV exposure, and the white finish also reflects heat away from the building.
